It’s Time for Your Open House!

Host the Perfect Open House! Your Open House should be a successful experience. Plan ahead. Start right away. Break the process into small steps. If you are ready to sell, or plan on selling in the near future, I would like to share my real estate knowledge and expertise with you. I can even provide an excellent list of trusted subcontractors if anything needs to be repaired or replaced. My professional experience can guide you through the entire home selling process, from start to finish.

Organize Your Team. Book a contractor to patch wall marks, and take care of dripping faucets and chipped tiles. At this point, I will most likely have pointed out some minor fixes. Schedule appointments with cleaning companies if you need your carpets, or other parts of your home, professionally cleaned. If you have children or pets, make arrangements to have a place they can go during the open house.

Start Your First Major Decluttering. Remember to keep your storage places clean and organized too, and if need be, store extra possessions at an off-site POD or storage facility. Take care of the small things now to ensure you won’t forget any of them at the last minute! Put away all everyday living items. New towels for the bathrooms and a new doormat are the types of items which add to the overall cleanliness and appeal of your home.

Hidden Troublemakers. It’s time to clean the parts of your home that don’t receive much attention during your regular cleaning routine. Clean all light fixtures, ceiling fans, door knobs, and baseboards. Check for wall spots which need paint touch-up. Make a de-clutter follow up! For the exterior, consider a power washing for the home, lanai, and driveway.

Double Check Everything! You’re in the final stretch now, so you can focus on the final preparations. Clean the inside of the oven and refrigerator. Make sure all major appliances are clean and accessible so potential buyers can inspect them. Mow the lawn a few days prior to the open house rather than the same day. This will lessen the chance of a potential buyer suffering from allergies and not enjoying your home. Make sure your windows are clean and free from smudges and fingerprints. I’ll stop by to double check your home’s readiness, and prepare the display of listing brochures.

Today’s the Day! Let’s Get Moving! Give each room a final walkthrough, and tie up any loose ends. Set the dining room table and patio table to show potential buyers the entertainment possibilities of your home. Open all blinds and curtains to let the sunshine in, and set up any items you purchased for aesthetics. Prepare the refreshments. Once everything is in place, let ME take over.
